Appendix B — Parent Code of Conduct
Aligned to the GHA Parent / Carer Code of Conduct — expectations, touchline behaviour and social media.

Parents are expected to
- Support all players — not just your own child
- Respect coaches — trust their decisions
- Respect match officials — accept decisions respectfully
- Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork & enjoyment
- Support Club values and represent GHA positively
- Raise concerns appropriately via the escalation process
Parents should
- Encourage attendance; celebrate effort as well as achievement
- Help create a welcoming environment & support new families
- Promote inclusion and volunteer where possible
Touchline & social media
- Support positively; applaud good play from both teams
- Avoid coaching from the touchline or arguing with officials
- Remember you represent GHA when posting online
Parents should not
- Abuse referees, opposition players, coaches or supporters
- Criticise players publicly or undermine coaches
- Create conflict through social media or WhatsApp groups
- Use discriminatory or offensive language
- Bring the Club into disrepute
Immediate risk to a child: contact Police Scotland and/or Social Services without delay.
