Club Operations
Parent & Family Involvement
How families support GHA, and why player voice matters.
Handbook page 29
Parents and families are a vital part of GHA. Many coaches, volunteers, committee members and sponsors first become involved through their children. Age groups are encouraged to build a pipeline of volunteers from within their parent group.
Parents may choose to support the Club through:
- Coaching, fundraising and events
- Sponsorship introductions
- Photography and videography
- Marketing, communications and administration
- Committee roles and other volunteering
Player Voice: players should be encouraged to contribute ideas, ask questions and take increasing ownership of their rugby experience as they mature. Listening to players helps create a positive, inclusive and enjoyable environment.
Not every family can volunteer, but every family is encouraged to contribute where they can.
