Coaches are volunteers whose contribution is essential. In return for their commitment, the Club will provide:
- A safe, supportive coaching environment
- Access to appropriate facilities and equipment
- Support with PVGs and coaching qualifications
- Training and development opportunities
- Recruitment and marketing support
- Fundraising guidance and resources
- Tour planning guidance
- Branding and design support
- Safeguarding and welfare support
- Clear escalation routes when issues arise
- Recognition for their contribution
Coaches should never feel expected to solve every challenge alone. The Club is committed to reducing administrative burdens so coaches can focus on players.
Coach meetings: annual programme
- Pre-season coaches meeting
- In-season workshops and updates
- End-of-season review meeting
Purpose: share information, promote consistency, support coaches and share best practice. Key dates in Appendix L.
Coach reflection: questions to consider
- What went well?
- What could be improved?
- What did the players learn?
- What support would help me coach more effectively?
