GHA is committed to developing coaches as well as players. All coaches are encouraged to undertake appropriate Scottish Rugby qualifications and ongoing professional development.

Minimum expectations

  • PVG
  • Rugby Right
  • Scottish Rugby Essentials

Recommended development

  • Emergency First Aid at Work (or equivalent)
  • SCRUMCAPS First Aid — Module 1 (e-learning)
  • Scottish Rugby coaching awards, workshops & mentoring
A 'Coaches Corner' network supports mentoring, peer support and shared ideas. Coaches should make use of Scottish Rugby resources available through Gainline. Operational enquiries relating to Scottish Rugby should normally be directed through the Director of Youth Rugby or Minis Operations Manager rather than directly to Scottish Rugby.
